The word “nurdle”as coined in 1994 for theĀ first time by a journalist covering a loss of plastic material in theĀ United States. Nurdles, also know as mermaids tears, is a small plastic pellet which curves as feed stock in the manufacture of plastic products.
Nurdles are mostly made from synthetic substances, some even derived from petrochemical products which give them high mouldability for the manufacture of familiar plastic products.
